Dr. B.Ramesh Ph.D (IIT) - Professor & Vice Principal

Dr. B. Ramesh is the professor and vice-principal of SSE. He joined as Professor in the year 2012. He received his Bachelor of Engineering from Karnatak University and Master of Engineering (Engineering Mechanics) from IIT Madras. Professor Ramesh received his doctoral degree from IIT, Roorkee. He has a total experience of 19 years in teaching, research and industry in various capacities and is being instrumental in driving the institute to deliver quality-packed education to the students. A few awards he has won are National Doctorate Fellowship for Ph.D., and the best lecturer award from SMIT. He is responsible/member for Academic Council, Board of Research, Educational Technical Unit and IRB (Institute Review Board). To his credit, he has 16 peer-reviewed journals published in National and International Journals. His areas of interest include sedimentation studies, structural dynamics and mechanics of structures. He teaches subjects like Structural Engineering, Design of Reinforced Concrete and Structural Analysis to all undergraduate and postgraduate students. This exuberant knowledge makes him a stalwart. His guidance to students is priceless.

Dr. S. Needhidasan Ph.D - Professor & Head of the Department

Dr. S. Needhidasan is working as Professor and Head, Department of Civil Engineering from the year 2001. He graduated his Bachelor of Engineering and Master Engineering in Irrigation and Water Resources Management from College of Engineering, Guindy, Chennai. He pursued his PhD. His major interests include water resources management and smart irrigation systems for effective agricultural production. He has a total of 15 years’ experience in teaching and research. He is an expertise in subjects such as Irrigation Engineering, Irrigation Water Management and Hydrology. He has published 20 papers in the International indexed journals and 20 papers in the International and National Conference proceedings. He has received “Eminent Educationalist Award” in 2011, “Rasthriya Gaurav Award” and “The Best Citizens of India Award” in 2014 for his outstanding achievements in the field of Engineering Education.

He has chaired many session in national and international conferences. He is always happy to share his knowledge with others and it’s truly a path for knowledge gathering to everyone.

Mr. N. Manoj, Associate Professor

Mr. N. Manoj, Associate Professor joined in the department in 2007. He completed his Master of Engineering in College of Engineering, Guindy, Chennai specialising in water resources management. He has taught subjects like mechanics of solids, structural engineering, design of steel structures, design of reinforced concrete and brick masonry. Although his specialization is in water resources, he has deep understanding and inclination towards to structural engineering due to the fact that he has worked as a design manager in UAE for 16 years with a total experience of 19 years. He has won Chancellors Award for publishing papers in Indexed Journals in consecutive years of 2013 and 2014. He is coordinator for VAP, Yoga & Meditation for staff & students, NAAC, Students Forum Incharge. He is honest and hard-working.

Dr. G. B. Ramesh Kumar, Associate Professor, Civil Engineering

Dr. G. B. Ramesh Kumar has completed his/her Master's/PhD in Structural Engineering from IIT, Roorkee. He is specialized in Concrete Technology, Steel Structure, Pre-stress Concrete, FEM Analysis and Design. He has 5 years experience in Research & Development and 5 year experience in design (L&T). He has published 8 Papers in journals of high repute. He has been associated with Saveetha University since 2014. He is responsible for Highway and concrete lab in charge, Student Profile In charge, Consultancy In charge, Student Project Coordinator. He is Energetic, Dynamic, Honest and Dedicated team player.

Dr. S. Vidhya Lakshmi, Associate Professor

Dr. S. Vidhya Lakshmi, Associate Professor, has about 8 years of teaching and four years of research experience total amouting to 12 years. She did her Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Science (By Research) in College of Engineering, Guindy specializing in remote sensing, GIS and Digital Image Processing. Her Ph.D., on remote sensing technology in Swansea University was fully funded by the Department for International Development (DFID), UK Her research interests includes the use of remote sensing and image processing for mapping and monitoring of natural resources and applications of the same to Civil Engineering. She has about 12 National and International Journals to her credit. She has taught several courses on Surveying, Remote Sensing and GIS, and Environmental Engineering. She has worked in multiple capacities from teaching, research to administration in several institutes.

Mr. S. Andavan, Assistant Professor

Mr. S. Andavan, Assistant Professor has completed his Master's in Structural Engineering. He is specialized in Structures and Building Construction He has 2 years experience in teaching and 8 years in Construction Industry (L&T). He has published 5 papers in International Journals. He has been associated with Department of Civil Engineering since 2013.

Ms M. Kalpana, Assistant Professor

Ms. M. Kalpana, Assistant Professor, has graduated Bachelor of Engineering with as University Rank Holder from Anna University. She has completed her Master's degree in Structural Engineering. She is specialising in Structural Dynamics. She has 6 years of teaching experience. She has published 7 Journals. She has also industrial/work experience as Planning and Design Engineer. She has been associated with Saveetha University since 2011. She is currently coordinator for M.E., course. She is a dedicated, energetic and honest person.

Mr. V. Gokulnath, Assistant Professor

Mr. V. Gokulnath, Assistant Professor has completed Master of Engineering in Construction Engineering & Management and specialises in Concrete & Management. He has experience in 3 Years in Teaching. He has published 3 papers. He has been associated with the institute since 2012. He is the coordinator for Admissions, University & CIA Results, Anti – Ragging Committee Member, Local Site Visits and boys Hostel. He is energetic, honest and dedicated.

Mr. Prabin Kumar, Assistant Professor.

Mr Prabin Kumar, Assitant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering specializing in Structural Engineering has 2 years of teaching experience. He has handled subjects like Estimation and Quantity Surveying, and Ground Improvement Techniques. His skills help students to equip with specialized knowledge and build their expertise.

Mrs. Subhashini, Assistant Professor, has 1 year of experience in teaching and Structural Designing. She has completed her Master of Engineering in Structural Engineering.
